RYERSON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF URBAN & REGIONAL PLANNING TO PRESENT TO COUNCIL APRIL 3RD

The Town of Gravenhurst is planning to create a new web portal.  Ryerson University School of Urban & Regional Planning Students (Municipal Economic Development Course) will be making three presentations to Council with respect to their findings and suggestions in the creation of a Town web portal.

“The web portal is an important step in making the Town “business ready” and is our gateway to the world” said Town CAO Frank Miele, “it is important that we are sending the right message.” Ryerson students will be making the three presentations: Marketing for Results in Gravenhurst; The World’s Gateway to Gravenhurst; and Promoting Gravenhurst Through Radio. The focus will be on the development of a web portal as well as other marketing streams.

Miele seeks to create a leading edge web portal that truly meets the future strategic and business needs of the Town, “our web portal needs to be able to interact and transact and will be based on ideas and concepts  that will make it the best municipal web portal in North America”. In order to obtain further Town participation, a Town Hall meeting is scheduled for April 23, 2012 at the Town of Gravenhurst Opera House. Further details of this meeting will be released.

The Town encourages the business community and residents to attend the Council meeting which starts at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Town’s Council Chambers located at 3-5 Pineridge Gate, Town of Gravenhurst.
