Lake safety is a priority for the KLRA. We work with organizations such as the OPP and Safe Quiet Lakes (SQL) to educate and engage in active discussions about water safety, with the goal of making Kahshe Lake a safer lake.
Safe Quiet Lakes
We are represented at SQL by a volunteer KLRA member who attends meetings, information sessions and acts as our liaison.
Safe Quiet Lakes works with lake community stakeholders across Central Ontario to promote safer and quieter lakes.
As part of their collaborative education program, SQL has created a Boaters’ Code, which the KRLA supports.
SQL creates and administers an annual survey which asks, questions about who, and people use our lakes and what concerns they may have. Kahshe Lakers are active participants in the survey, which we distribute via email and our social media pages.
Typically over 10% of our community complete the survey.
Results of the 2017 can be seen here.
The 2013 survey is available here.
