Taking the trash out is about to get harder for many of us around Kahshe and Bass Lakes, due to the District of Muskoka's planned removal of waste bin sites. Please read on.
Your help is needed Now
The KLRA needs your help now to complete a short survey on garbage and recycling disposal. The survey is available here:
We are asking you to complete the survey even if you do not rely on the bin sites. We need a complete picture of how we dispose of garbage and recycling to help us get the best outcome for our community.
The survey will be available until Friday, February 21, 2020.
The District of Muskoka, which is responsible for handling our garbage and recycling (a.k.a. “solid waste”), will be removing all 88 bin sites across Muskoka by 2023.
Several “high priority” sites will be removed in April of this year, including the bins at Rockhaven, Denne’s Marina gas dock and on Riley Lake Road.
This KLRA survey is in addition to the District’s survey we advised you of last week. The KLRA survey intends to collect Kahshe/Bass-specific data that we can use to influence outcomes. We encourage you to complete both.
See the article in the current version of the Kahshe Krier, due out shortly.
You can visit the District website at: www.engagemuskoka.ca/bin-site-transition-plan .
Stay tuned for more from the KLRA.
We ask that you complete the survey only once for your household.
