Kahshe Lake has spawned some famous and talented people.  One of those is Janet Wilson, born Janet Reid, daughter of Dorothy Reid of Dorothy's Bay, Oak Road, Kahshe Lake.

Janet has had a long and successful career as an illustrator of chldren's books. She is nationally known and has received many awards.

One of her books, The Biggest Fish in the Lake, MargaretCarney, Kids can Press, is set on Kahshe Lake.

Janet's latest award has just been announced by First Nations Communities Read 2012-13.  The title is Shannen and the Dream for a School. Janet wrote the text and painted the illustrations. This is not a children's book, but rather a young adults' text conceived and created by Janet as one of a series of books aimed at young people encouraging them to take positive action in the world and showing how many succeed.
