Fishing Courtesy

Lately, we have had boats fishing quite close to our docks and shoreline. Although, we realize that we don't own the lake, we feel that boats being this close to our cottage while fishing is an invasion of our privacy.  I am not talking about people trawling by, but people actually sitting in their boats, stationary or very close to it. We have no problem with people in kayaks or canoes as we know that they are just passing by.  Even when our big dog goes out on the dock and barks at the fisherman, they just sit there.  It is not like our cottage area has all the fish. Or am I just being cranky?

I also get a bit cranky about this, especially when sitting on the dock.  Just because someone has the legal right to fish 50 feet away doesn't mean they should.  But I have learned not all of us share the same sense of civil behaviour.
